The new electromotive actuator CHEOPS S KNX from Theben is the perfect solution for controlling heating and cooling systems in KNX building automation. The powerful drive offers the perfect combination of high maximum actuating force of up to 220 N, great flexibility thanks to two binary inputs and maximum security thanks to KNX Data Secure.
Motorised actuators such as the CHEOPS S KNX use a motor with gearbox for valve control in KNX systems. The gearbox converts the rotary movement into a stroke. The actuator works as a proportional drive, and permanently maintains the required opening degree, in contrast to a thermal actuator. Thanks to the integrated bus coupler, the device is connected directly to the KNX bus. A separate KNX heating actuator is not required. The supply voltage is obtained from the KNX system. With the automatic valve stroke detection and the integrated LED display, the current status of the valve can always be clearly seen.
While motorised actuators use a motor and a gearbox, thermal actuators use a heating element. It expands when voltage is applied. The expansion is then transferred to the valve. Control is via pulse width modulation. Other than electromotive actuators, thermal actuators require an additional KNX heating actuator such as the Theben HMT 12 S KNX for use in heating circuit distributors or the heating actuators of the MIX2 or FIX series.
Motorised actuators such as the CHEOPS S KNX are ideal for controlling the room temperature in heating and cooling systems in KNX building automation. For example, on conventional heaters, heaters with integrated valve sets, radiators, convectors, heating circuit distributors on underfloor heating and ceiling cooling systems. The devices are used in office, administration, industrial and residential buildings with KNX systems.
Motorised actuators such as the CHEOPS S KNX have an integrated temperature sensor and an integrated room temperature controller for efficient heating and cooling, each with an additional stage. Therefore, external devices for temperature measurement and control are not necessary. Even the use in heating circuit distributors is possible. Also, a logic for connecting up to 10 window contacts is integrated. In addition, the motorised actuators offer two universally usable binary inputs. They can be used, for example, to connect an external temperature sensor or presence detector. Other functions include:
Electromotive actuators such as the CHEOPS S KNX are simply plugged onto the previously mounted valve adapter and locked. Valve adapters for M30 x 1.5 mm and Danfoss RA are included in the scope of delivery as standard. Further valve adapters for almost every manufacturer are optionally available. To remove it, tools are required. Therefore, theft or sabotage are largely excluded.
CHEOPS S KNX and all new KNX components from Theben support KNX Data Secure. Communication in the KNX network is encrypted and secure data transmission of telegrams is ensured. This means the KNX system is optimally protected against data theft and manipulation.
