Optimum air quality. For a perfect living climate: The new AMUN 716 S KNX CO2 sensor

(Haigerloch, 1 September 2017) Theben AG presents the new AMUN 716 S KNX CO2 sensor. It can be used to control ventilation systems in KNX building automation depending on the air inside the room, and - thanks to the integrated temperature controller - control the room temperature more efficiently.

Lots of people sharing a room can quickly produce poor air quality. This is mostly caused by exhaled carbon dioxide (CO2). The results are: Reduction in well-being, concentration and performance. The new AMUN 716 S KNX CO2 sensor monitors CO2 levels in schools and classrooms, in offices and meeting rooms, or even in passive and low-energy buildings. Thanks to the integrated temperature controller, it is ideal for efficiently controlling the room temperature and for controlling KNX actuators or heating actuators, depending on the air inside the room.

Easy to install

With the supplied universal mounting plate, AMUN 716 S KNX can be easily installed on the wall or a switch box. The device combines as much as four measurement parameters in one housing: CO2, relative humidity, temperature and air pressure. Since only one single device – without additional sensors – has to be installed, installation is significantly simplified. The integrated air-pressure gauge allows the automatic correction of the CO2 measurement depending on the "height above sea level". Thus, the CO2 content in the air can be precisely measured anywhere in the world.

Maximum flexibility

AMUN 716 S KNX offers maximum flexibility, due to two different front panels. While one of the front panels can be used to set the base setpoint by using the rotary control, the other one can be used to set a manual setpoint offset (absolute and relative scaling). Four external inputs allow a fast integration of conventional contacts, such as buttons, switches, window or signalling contacts into the KNX system.

Alerting and dimmable LEDs

In case of a sensor failure, there can be an automatic alert by telegram via the KNX bus. For this purpose, three communication objects are available, as for instance an alarm error text. The LEDs at the front are especially bright. In this way, the status display can be seen without any problems even in bright environments. In order for the LEDs not to illuminate the entire room during darkness, they can be dimmed down to a specific brightness, either automatically (via the integrated brightness sensor), or via a command.
